Towards Ballet through Grade Eight
For levels Towards Ballet through Grade eight, we provide the Royal Academy of Dance curriculum for students who desire a quality dance education. The Towards Ballet through Primary levels are carefully designed for young growing children who are beginning dance. Grades one through eight also incorporate Character dance, a stylized dance based on east European folk dance, into their ballet studies. Character is an integral part of classical ballet repertoire. Royal Academy of Dance examinations are held annually each spring. Students advance to the next grade upon approval of their instructor or completion of their exam.
Pre-Professional Vocational Grades
For students ages 11 and above, who wish to pursue their training further, we provide the pre-professional Royal Academy of Dance program. The training for these levels include both R.A.D. syllabus classes as well as non-syllabus classes, where students are able to work with experienced teachers to help them grow as dancers. This program possesses a thriving artistic atmosphere where students encourage one another as they explore their artistic sensibilities. Students are provided the skills and resources to work towards a professional career in dance as well as other discipline orientated professions. Students may go on to audition for acceptance to Northwest Dance Theater.
Classes are available for ages five through adult. All ballet students are encouraged to study tap in addition to ballet, as it helps them improve their sense of coordination, rhythm, and musicality.
Classes are available for ages seven through adult. All ballet students are encouraged to study jazz in addition to ballet, as it helps them improve their flexibility, musicality and use of space. Jazz is an integral part of dance education for students who wish to become professional dancers.
Adult and Teen classes
Classes are available for teen beginning ballet as well as adult beginning ballet. We also offer adult tap and jazz classes. We welcome dancers of all levels and work with you to help you reach your personal goals. Classes provide a wonderful way to release stress and have fun while keeping fit.
Classes are offered for age teen to adult. Pilates provides a great way to strengthen and tone your muscles, benefiting both dancers and non-dancers alike.
